Chapter 11

Chapter 11 is commonly filed where a business reorganization is required. It is started by a petition being filed which could either be voluntary by the debtor or involuntary whereby it is filed by creditors who have to meet certain criteria. Credit counseling prior to the filing of Chapter 11 is mandatory and must be undertaken by an approved credit counseling agency.
